Belize, like most countries in the world, continues to be affected by COVID 19 and the ravages of the global economy. In the interest of our people and community, we must continue to actively explore strategic avenues that will enhance economic recovery with deliberate intent. The Belize Investment Summit, falls in line with our Plan Belize mandate to promote robust economic initiatives, diversity, and inclusion of all.
Our strategic location, bountiful natural terrestrial, mineral, and marine resources, a young vibrant population, and an investor-friendly government enable an abundance of opportunities that make us uniquely attractive as an investment destination. The Government of Belize prioritizes economic development and is making the necessary legal, policy, and procedural changes, to create an environment that is conducive to doing business in Belize. Belize is looking forward to accelerating investment growth, aligned with the sustainable development goals; improving our fiscal position, reducing our debt burden, and improving economic prosperity Our country boasts exceptional and untapped growth potential and has a wealth of opportunities in areas, such as, Agriculture, Tourism, Blue Economy, Business Process Outsourcing, Manufacturing and Renewable Energy which will be the highlight of our first Investment Summit. I am convinced, as Prime Minister, that it is the opportune time to invest in Belize; whether foreign or local, to establish strategic partnerships and find investment opportunities.
