It is for these reasons and more that we welcome you to this, the second edition of the Belize Investment Summit, under the theme “Belize: Endless Opportunities.” As Prime Minister, I am pleased to emphasize that the Government of Belize has prioritized inclusive economic development, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals. Together with my Cabinet, we are proactively and continuously making advances in progressive and forward-thinking legal, policy, and procedural changes to create an investor-friendly environment that is conducive to doing business in Belize. This reflects the spirit of our #PlanBelize mandate to promote robust economic growth for all, and we look forward to accelerating both national and international investment growth that supports an increase in trade and small business development in order to achieve this. At this time of heightened consciousness on the matter of climate vulnerability, Belize is proud to be leading the way, and to be sharing our experience, infusing innovative approaches to managing public debt while balancing development and environmental preservation.
